Dos for the Tenant:
  • Maintain General Cleanliness:

    • Encourage keeping the condo reasonably clean and tidy. This includes:

      • Washing dishes.

      • Keeping surfaces clear.

      • Vacuuming or sweeping.

    • This does not mean you have to do a deep clean every time. Ordinary cleanliness is sufficient. Deep cleaning is required before you vacate the unit.

  • Secure Valuables:

    • Secure any valuable or personal items you don't want potential tenants to see.

  • Be Cooperative with Scheduling:

    • Be as flexible as possible with showing times, within reasonable limits.

    • Open communication is very helpful.

  • Secure Pets:

    • If you have pets, you should secure them during showings (e.g., in a carrier or another room).

  • Respectful Conduct:

    • If you are present during a showing, you should remain respectful and avoid interfering with the process.

Don'ts for the Tenant:
  • Don't Obstruct Showings:

    • You cannot unreasonably refuse showings with proper notice.

  • Don't Feel Obligated to Deep Clean or Stage:

    • You are not required to do excessive cleaning or staging.

  • Don't Leave Valuables in Plain Sight:

    • This is for your own protection.

  • Don't Engage with Prospective Tenants:

    • It's best to leave the communication to you or your real estate agent.

  • Don't feel pressured to leave the property during every showing:

    • You have the right to be there.
