Dos for the Tenant:
Maintain General Cleanliness:
Encourage keeping the condo reasonably clean and tidy. This includes:
Washing dishes.
Keeping surfaces clear.
Vacuuming or sweeping.
This does not mean you have to do a deep clean every time. Ordinary cleanliness is sufficient. Deep cleaning is required before you vacate the unit.
Secure Valuables:
Secure any valuable or personal items you don't want potential tenants to see.
Be Cooperative with Scheduling:
Be as flexible as possible with showing times, within reasonable limits.
Open communication is very helpful.
Secure Pets:
If you have pets, you should secure them during showings (e.g., in a carrier or another room).
Respectful Conduct:
If you are present during a showing, you should remain respectful and avoid interfering with the process.
Don'ts for the Tenant:
Don't Obstruct Showings:
You cannot unreasonably refuse showings with proper notice.
Don't Feel Obligated to Deep Clean or Stage:
You are not required to do excessive cleaning or staging.
Don't Leave Valuables in Plain Sight:
This is for your own protection.
Don't Engage with Prospective Tenants:
It's best to leave the communication to you or your real estate agent.
Don't feel pressured to leave the property during every showing:
You have the right to be there.
